Artist Information Biography A southern upbringing and Elvis, Merle and Conway and Cash always on the radio was how Country music became my musical core. I played drums and sang all through high school but chose the military career instead of music. I served 11 years as an Army Officer, won the Bronze Star Medal for actions in the Gulf War, and worked in the corporate world, before I started writing songs about a year ago. Unexpectedly, lyrics and melodies were just there and I just had to get them out. It wasn't until I received what I am convinced was a sign from above that I realized I had to follow this new path to wherever it may lead. Living in New York is a great experience but it can be scary at times. I was confronted by four guys late one night on the subway. All of a sudden, someone who I am convinced was my guardian angel intervened and before I could even even thank him; he was gone. What finally showed me that music was my path, was seeing my guardian angel on the subway again recently. He was sleeping on one of the benches in the same subway car that I was in. and didn't even say a word. I had to see was that cradled in his arms, like he was protecting his most prized possession, was a beat up, worn out and well used old electric guitar! At that moment I knew. The next day, I received a songwriting contract offer. So here I am. Thanks so much for stopping by

Lyrics
OLD FAMILIAR PAIN written by: Weston James copyright 2008 Weston James Music VERSE I I thought I was over her I truly thought I could move on But then I walked past that place I first saw her And then those feelings just came on CHORUS The pain never goes away, it's always there inside you Waiting for the perfect time to hurt you once again You finally think your over her then something small reminds you Then all your tears start falling again Then all your left with is that old familiar pain. VERSE II As time passes by, you'd think I'd forgotten The way she smiled, the way she held my hand Yet today I was cleaning out the closet, I found some old pictures of her and then Those memories of her came crashing through again CHORUS The pain never goes away, it's always there inside you Waiting for the perfect time to hurt you once again You finally think your over her then something small reminds you Then all your tears start falling again Then all your left with is that old familiar pain. BRIDGE How does anyone ever get through this? Does anyone really ever? So tell me, what then am I do do? CHORUS The pain never goes away, it's always there inside you Waiting for the perfect time to hurt you once again You finally think your over her then something small reminds you And then all your tears start falling again And then all your left with is that old familiar pain. And then all your left with is that old familiar pain.
