Rock, blues, and even a bit of some country.
I'm not sure what to call what we are trying to do here. Possibly rock music, with a touch of blues, jazz, hard rock, some country, some folk, and some reggae. We're trying to keep it earthy, real, at times it could get a bit retro, and will tend towards live style in studio recordings (the band actually playing together to make a cut), but not in all cases. Dave does all the drumming, and Ed joins occasionally for some bass work.

Story behind the song
The songs words are about this man who used to ride back and forth on the Cape Cod canal bike path with his cowboy hat, and his country music cranking out from a boom box attached to the back of his bike. I thought his zen like approach to life was cool, and the spontaneous open G slide work just fell into place magically. Sometimes the muse is with you, but mostly she is not. Anyway I released this song a while back with programmed drums. Dave, the real live musician and drummer wanted to re-do the drums as part of our new working together, and I think the results speak for themselves. Glad we re-mixed it. I've noticed since recording it the vocals seem kind of T-Rex sounding. Unintentional, but cool.
Lyrics
Just a barefoot cowboy living life so free and clear Just a barefoot cowboy going through life with nothing to fear Riding down the road on a two wheel steed Hands in the air to the beat You're flying your freak flag high gonna ride your bike to the sky Just a barefoot cowboy living life so free and clear Just a barefoot cowboy going through life with nothing to fear The breeze on the canal is nothing to you You never change just do what you do I wonder how I could attain that grace But I'd just fall on my face
