The Wild Heard is an informal bunch of musicians who play country, bluegrass, blues, gospel, and original music. Several of the players are Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame Honorees and all play for the fun and love of music. The Heard has played at benefits and festivals such as the Clermont Benefit in Clermont, GA, the Harbins' Community Center Benefit in Dacula, GA, the Suches Indian Summer Festival in Suches, GA, the Elisha Winn Festival in Dacula, GA, and the City Lights Festival in Commerce, GA. Players get together most Tuesday nights at SIFCO Systems in Dacula, GA and like an audience who appreciates an informal atmosphere. There is no cover charge, no alcohol, no smoking, no pets, and no complaints. Snuff, chaw, and kids are allowed. The band changes from time to time and welcomes anyone who can contribute to the repertoire. Instruments include guitar, dobro, banjo. mandolin, and bass. Lyrics
I Am A Pilgrim I am a pilgrim and a stranger Travelling through this wearsome land I've got a home in that yonder city good Lord And it's not, not made by hand I've got a mother, sister and a brother Who have gone this way before I am determined to go and see them good Lord Over on that other shore I’m going down to the river of Jordan Just to bathe my weary soul If I can just touch the hem of his garmet good Lord Then I know he'd take me home Now when I’m dead, lying in my coffin All of my friend all gathered ‘round They can say that he is laying there sleeping Sweet peace, oh Lord his soul has found. I am a pilgrim and a stranger Travelling through this wearsome land I've got a home in that yonder city good Lord And it's not, not made by hand
