Don't Take It Out On Jesus
Don't take your frustrations with the brethren out on Jesus.
I am a singer/songwriter since I was in the ninth grade. (Check out my bio at www.bobblackshearmusic.com.)
Story behind the song
Sometimes when Christian workers suffer rejection and hard ships from their brethren, they go over the hill to another congregation or stop attending church altogether. But to do so is a slap in the face of Jesus, Who is the Head of the Body of Christ.
Lyrics
Don’t Take It Out on Jesus
1. You enter situations
With hopes you think are so grand.
You work so hard to serve the Lord,
But some don’t understand.
You then get disillusioned
With what you thought was God’s will.
You leave the fold in search of gold
On top of some other hill.
Chorus: But
Don’t take it out on Jesus—
The One Who died for you.
Don’t heap the insult of injury
On crucifixion, too.
Don’t take it out on Jesus
When others pay you no mind.
Don’t leave the One Who matters most
Or break the ties that bind.
2. You mean so well in service
That some show jealousy.
You’re made to feel unwelcome there
‘Cause they’re not really free.
Instead of working with you
You’re shown hostility.
Your feelings hurt ‘cause you can’t work
Where there’s negativity.
Chorus:
