i am Steve Weyman from Bristol England and been playing guitar since I was 9 years of age and doing paid gigs in bands from age 14 playing covers and originals. I am a bit older ( quite a bit older now ! I am not gigging at the moment . I am teaching guitar and concentrating more on writing and recording in m y little home studio. Don't write in a particular style, it comes out how it comes out !

i wanted to cover this track purely to improve my keyboard skills as ive just started learning to play keys to add to my guitar playing. on some of my previous tracks with keys i got my ex band mate to play them .He's less available now so thought I would learn and play them myself . Im nowhere as good as he is but will try my best. We used to do this live and i played guitar and sung. I dont do tapping so the guitar solo has been adjusted . Eddie was a genius at tapping and I probably couldnt do it like him if i had 4 hands ! The lyrics by David lee Roth were written after he saw a news reel about a man threatening to jump from a building and horribly people were shouting " go ahead jump" but he wanted it to mean a positive thing about going for it in life taking a chance to achieve your goals. A big shout out to Rodrica Rudge who has supported me and many others on SC . she suggested the Yamaha keyboard I used on this track and comfortably numb amazing piece of kit so many thanks Rodz ! hope you are back recording soon.

mate, this is so good (as thirteen others below me testify to) - what a great cover! I've been trying to figure out who your vocals remind me of and it's only listening to this song that it's become clear (to me anyway) but yeah, Steve Winwood for sure! I'm checking out your catalogue here but you'd smash stuff like 'Valerie' and 'Higher Love' - anyway, you're an amazing talent, great work!

Holy cr@p Steve this is just awesome! The playing, vocals and production are just perfect but above all you’ve captured the excitement and energy of this great tune. I’ve only ever heard one other band attempt to cover this properly - a pro band on the Nashville strip, but you version is actually better - it just has that magic. Brilliant work!

Off the Charts Steve! Absolutely nailed it from the very 1st note. There's not many i know that can pull this off as good as you have. Amazing cover. BTW the keys are perfect. Production and mix as good as it gets by anyone out there. Hats off to you! 5 STARS!!!!!!

Absolutely brilliant! The thing that struck me the most was how you have managed to pull this off singled handed - when you think of the original & all the engineers, production staff & high end studio involved, this cover is nothing short of amazing! Superbly produced & mixed, great vocals & guitar work, especially love the way you have nailed that Van Halen keyboard sound - the tone & effects are spot on
