Story behind the song
Another end of the world prediction falls flat on its face and people will continue to make money on the mass hysteria it produces. This time the Mayan Calendar. Next time who knows. Yet no one will ever be accountable for these scam artists, religious fanatics, or modern day lunatics. I hope one day humanity will outgrow these ancient fairy tales and allow freedom based rationalism lead the world into the future. The lyrics are not intended to offend anyone but in my time too many such predictions have been allowed to spread like plague without any intervention from our leaders. Who are they anyway?
Lyrics
You know it happened again They said the world would end December , Twenty Twelve Why do some still believe Predictions such as these? That, cause some people grief Until the new dawn appears This is a never ending War of faith and understanding Keeps the wolves outside your doors at night Don’t you see the seeds were planted Ancient words forever chanted By the ones who make you fear the dark It’s so frustrating to hear How superstitious fear Controls our daily lives From birth until we die Sail on endless oceans Be amazed by the moon and stars above These things will still be here When we have long been gone Why must they control our lives? Censor freedom with their lies The abuse begins at birth Continues throughout our lives Am I the only one that’s ever thought this way If there’s a price to pay I think the time has come Call them out let them know, Cry out freedom from your heart Make or break it’s a start But they’ll never let you go They’ll soon come out again To say the world will end
