Story behind the song
Sara Starr is another one churned out from the bowels of Manhattan. The verses were written on a sunny spring day In Tompkins Square Park in '99, near where I was living at 10th and A. The poppy chorus appeared one day in Washington Square Park at around the same time. Registers or hearkens back to the poppier, Ziggy Stardust version of Bowie. Only I get to know who Sara is.
